Dusk nears The sun sinks away Leaving me with my fear: In the black and blue of night A dark bruise on my mind Shadows crawl the walls Stretching their tentacles For the cracks in my armor Searching for a way to consume and overtake And so I rage for escape Growling for them to stay away But the darkness heeds me not The path is found, the way inside Their evil infects me like the Plague And for the darkest hour I become everything I hate Rapacious  fury A demon enraged Malevolence incarnate Until the fever breaks The adrenaline is drained Anxiety takes anger’s place Terror replaces the monster that I was The shadows retreat Leaving
